Know the film on your car
Care instructions vary by brand, finish, and product. Keep the information provided with your installation, and follow the guidance for that exact film rather than treating every wrap the same.
Wash thoughtfully
3M recommends hand washing where possible for its vehicle wraps. Rinse away loose grit before cleaning and use products suitable for the installed film. Ask before using an unfamiliar chemical or an automated wash.
Deal with contamination promptly
Fuel spills and other contaminants shouldn’t sit on the surface. Follow the film manufacturer’s removal instructions. Avoid aggressive scrubbing that could change the finish.
Gloss, satin, and matte aren’t interchangeable
A product intended to add shine to glossy paint may not suit a satin or matte wrap. Check the product instructions and your film’s maintenance guide before applying polishes, waxes, or dressings.
Notice a lifting edge? Ask first.
If an edge lifts or a section is damaged, contact the installer before trying to heat, glue, or polish it yourself. Describe where the issue is so the next step can be assessed.
